Arogya Sevika Training center,

Arogya Sevika is a female Volunteer from a Village (Preferably Married) who commits to volunteer for taking care of the health of her village through Home Remedies and the training she receives from Arogya Foundation.
Every Arogya Sevika receives five days residential Training program. The subjects are as follows.
- Daily regimen & seasonal Regimen to be followed by an Individual.
This includes life style and Food pattern based on the Indian Traditional values validated by a Team of Experts .This also will include personal hygiene. This is to ensure to avoid any Superstitions followed in the villages.
- Mother & Child Health
Methods and techniques to be followed by Mother during pregnancy and the care to be given to the Child. We want to adopt the methods used by our grant mothers validated by the experts. This will also include using the locally available resources . They also get the basic knowledge on the Immunization Schedule and we teach to ensure the institutional Delivery through PHC.
- Malnutrition and Anaemia
Using the locally available resources like vegetables, Green leafs and many other methods to prevent Malnutrition and anaemia.
- Home Remedies
Knowledge on using the locally available herbs , the materials used in kitchen on day to day basis like Jeeraka , Pepper etc to prevent & Treat Primacy Health care of the family. This system has been followed in India for centuries and it has come down post independence. We teach only those Home Remedies which are validated by the Expert Council.
- Monthly Women Assembly in the Village Temple
The Arogya Sevika will be trained to conduct DEEPA POOJA in the village temple every month. All the Village women are expected to participate and Arogya Sevika/ Resource persons will be able to talk on Women related Health Issues.
Syllabus & Training materials
The Syllabus & Training material for the Arogya Sevika Training program is already prepared in the Local language (Tamil). This can be translated in any other languages in future.
Training faculty & Expert Council.
- Dr.Krishna Prasad, professor in Ayurveda College, Coimbatore is the Head of the Traing Faculty. He is supported by a Team of Ayurveda Doctors. The Team of Smt. HEMAMALINI also contributes in the training programs.
- The Expert council is lead by Dr. Parthasarathy, Director of the AVP Training Academy. This is the institution under Padmashree.P.R.Krishnakumar. This Academy is involved in Training of Health care professional worldwide in Ayurveda /Indian medicines. So far they have trained professionals from 60 Countries.
Self Sustainable Model
This Training is the most self sustainable model since we don’t have to give any medicines from outside. We are training them to use the materials they use in their daily life and the locally available resources.
